Vehicle burglary
A local woman experienced a loss of approximately $1,500 when her purse was stolen out of her vehicle at her Laurel Drive home last week. The victim told deputies that although her purse was later found on Springer Road, her wallet was missing. Afterwards she said someone used her debit card at Walmart stores in Lawrenceburg and Pulaski. Her credit card was used at the same Walmart locations as well as a North Locust Avenue Shell station, and an unknown Texaco station. She said that other credit cards were also stolen along with several gift cards.
Vehicle burglary
Deputies responded to a vehicle burglary on West Laurel Drive where the victim said someone had stolen her GPS out of her vehicle. The device had an estimated value of $150.
Vehicle Burglary
The victim of a vehicle burglary reported to deputies that he had parked his truck at his residence on Kelcie Drive, returning to find that a pair of Oakley sun glasses and his wallet and contents, including $400 in cash, were missing. Also stolen was a laptop computer. Total loss was placed at $1,100.
Theft
A Shotwell Road resident reported to deputies that, while he had been in the hospital, an acquaintance had illegally used his bank card at a store and ATMs. He told deputies that he spoke to the person he suspected of committing the crime. He said she told him she would return his card and “would get some of the money back to him.” She told him she would “get him enough (money) to get by on.” Loss was said to be $780.
Theft
A Lexington Highway, Loretto resident filed a complaint with deputies, indicating that items had been stolen out of both his garage and barn. A D.R. Brush mower was stolen along with a large air compressor, lawnmower jack, four mag wheels with tires, a battery charger, two small animal cages, a gallon of anti-freeze, two gallons of hydraulic oil, numerous hand tools, a battery, and ten used car batteries. Altogether, he estimated his loss to be $4,120.
Vandalism
Deputies responded to Monument Road in Summertown where the victim reported that someone had vandalized his mailbox. The door of the mailbox had been knocked off. He told deputies it appeared that it had been struck with a hammer. He said that his neighbor’s mailbox had been struck, as well. He told deputies that he had heard a loud noise at around 11:30 the previous night. Damages were around $60.
Burglary
More than $3,600 in loss was reported after burglars targeted a Lexington Highway property in Loretto. The victim told deputies that she had arrived at her late mother’s home to find a rear door ajar. Tools and yard implements were stolen along with furniture, a set of Blue Willow china, vacuum cleaner, crystal bells, collectibles, paintings, pitcher and bowl set, vases, antique crystal punch bowl set, 24 piece glass set, several antique collectible lamps, floor heater, household cleaning items, and bottled water .
Theft
Deputies were called to a home on Long Branch Road where the resident reported that a houseguest had stolen more than $600 worth of items. Taken was her purse which contained medications, jewelry, a cell phone, and credit and debit cards. She told deputies that the items had been stolen by a man who was her houseguest for a couple of weeks.
Burglary
A burglary at a Lentz Road home in Summertown was reported by the resident. She told deputies that the rear door had been kicked in causing considerable damage. The owner was not in town and told deputies that he would compile a list of missing items upon his return.
Burglary
Deputies responded to White Oak Drive in Leoma where the resident reported that his home had been burglarized. A television and tablet were stolen from the living room, resulting in a $400 loss.
