Mother of murder suspect charged with tampering with evidence
Lawrenceburg Now
The mother of a Leoma teen arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Loretto High School student and her unborn child, has been arrested in connection with the case, as well.
Colton Daniel Perryman, age eighteen, was arrested on Tuesday on two counts of second degree murder and one count of tampering with evidence in the Labor Day shooting of his girlfriend, Samantha “Stormy” Carter. Carter, age sixteen, was a student at Loretto High School.
Perryman and his family had been staying at Richland Inn in Pulaski after being displaced from their home due to a fire. Authorities indicate that Carter was at the motel at around 7:00 p.m. Monday when Perryman allegedly shot her in the head.
She was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where she later died. She was reportedly twenty-two weeks pregnant at the time.
Perryman was incarcerated at the Giles County Jail under a $900,000 bond.
Authorities indicate that Perryman’s mother, Karla McDonald, surrendered herself to Pulaski authorities on Wednesday and was subsequently incarcerated on charges of tampering with evidence.
