Leoma man arrested for killing LHS student and unborn child in Pulaski
Lawrenceburg Now
A young Leoma man was arrested on murder charges in Giles County Tuesday in connection with the Labor Day shooting death of a Loretto High School student and her unborn child.
Officials with the Pulaski Police Department report that the teenager, identified as sixteen year old Samantha "Stormy" Carter, was shot Monday evening at Richland Inn in Pulaski, where she had gone to visit eighteen year old Colton Daniel Perryman. Perryman had reportedly been staying at the motel after he and his family were forced to leave their home due to a fire.
Carter's unborn baby died right away and she was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Pulaski police took Perryman into custody on Tuesday on two counts of second-degree murder and one count of tampering with evidence. He was incarcerated at the Giles County Jail under a bond of $900,000.
Authorities expect that additional charges will be sought.
