Thief pushes one vehicle out of the way to steal victim's car
Lawrenceburg Now
The victim of a recent car theft in Lawrenceburg told police officials that the person responsible had to actually push another vehicle aside in order to take her car.
The twenty-one year old victim initially reported the theft of her wallet to Lawrenceburg Police officers. She explained that the stolen wallet had contained a key to her 2013 Ford Taurus.
The following day, the victim spoke with officers once again. At that time she reported that her car, too, had been stolen. She told officers that she had made the discover after awaking around 5:00 a.m.
According to the victim, she had last seen her car at around midnight. She said she had parked another vehicle directly behind it in the hopes of preventing it from being stolen. In order to take her car, the person responsible had to first push the other vehicle out of the way.
The victim's loss was estimated to be $10,000. Anyone with information regarding the crime should contact the police department at 931-762-2276.
