Card info stolen, used in Murfreesboro area

A local resident filed a complaint with law enforcement officers recently, indicating that his credit card information had been illegally used several times in the Murfreesboro area.

The twenty-three year old reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department that one of the crimes included a charge of $120 that had been made at MapCo in Smyrna. Officials with Cracker Barrel in Murfreesboro indicated that they had video of the transaction that had occurred there, but that it could only be released to law enforcement.

The victim told officers that he had already spoken with the card company to deactivate it, and that future incoming charges had been frozen.

At the time reports were filed the investigation into the matter remained active.
