Thursday crash results in one fatality

Lawrenceburg Now

Authorities report that a two car crash that occurred in Summertown Thursday resulted in the death of a local woman.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol report that the crash occurred at the Highway 20, Shady Street intersection at around 2:00 p.m.

Reports indicate that sixty-seven year old Summertown resident Anita Whipple was exiting from Shady Street onto Highway 20 when she pulled into the path of a truck driven by a Leoma resident.

The other driver was airlifted from the scene to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Reports indicate that Whipple perished as the result of injuries she sustained.
