Owner goes back into home momentarily, returns to find vehicle burglarized

Lawrenceburg Now

A woman reported to law enforcement officers last weekend that her vehicle was burglarized while she and her son made a quick return to their house before departing for a shopping trip.

The victim reported Saturday that she and her son were going shopping shortly after 5:00 p.m. She said that she unlocked her 2003 Kia Sorento and placed a glass of water inside. She said they went back inside of their house for a few minutes and returned to see a man "walking really fast away from the vehicle."

When they got inside, the victim said she noticed that her wallet had been stolen. She estimated her loss at $26.50.

Investigation into the crime is currently on-going.
