Officers will wear shrouds on badges throughout the month to honor the fallen

According to Police Chief Terry Beecham, members of the Lawrenceburg Police Department will wear shrouds on their badges throughout the month to honor fellow law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Officers typically shroud their badges as a sign of mourning, honor and respect any time a law enforcement officer dies while on the job. With the death toll among law enforcement officers across the nation at such a high in recent months, Beecham explains, “We’re barely uncovering our badges before we have to shroud them again.”

In honor of these officers, and in celebration of their lives and the work they did, Beecham says the entire department will be wearing shrouds on their badges throughout the month of September.
