Man Tries To Repay Stolen Cash With Stolen Cell Phone

A local man filed a complaint with law enforcement officials on Monday, indicating that, after stealing cash from him, a man had tried to make restitution by giving him a stolen cell phone.

The victim, age 18, filed the complaint with Lawrenceburg Police officers. He said that a man he knew had been at his home on April 21. Once the man left, he said that he discovered that an E-cigarette was missing along with $320 in cash from his wallet. Lawrenceburg Now.com. He told officers that the suspect was the only person who had been inside his home that day.

The victim reported that he had been in contact with the suspect asking that he repay him, and that he offered him a Samsung cell phone for payment. Once he received it, he said he had it checked to see whether it had been reported as stolen, and found that it had.

Officers took the phone into evidence pending further investigation.
