Winning lottery ticket stolen by guest

Lawrenceburg Now

A local woman filed a complaint with law enforcement officers Sunday morning, indicating that a guest had stolen her winning lottery ticket.

The victim, age 51, filed a report with Lawrenceburg Police officers, indicating that the crime had been perpetrated by a man with whom she had begun a relationship the previous day. She said that she had told him about a winning lottery ticket she had for $500. After he left she discovered that the ticket, along with another $100, was missing from her wallet.

The victim told officers that she only knew the man’s first name, Derrick, and that he worked and lived in Nashville. She was able to provide them with his cell phone number. She said that he had left her house on a motorcycle, possibly heading back to Nashville.

The crime currently remains under investigation.
