Driver flees after striking pedestrian on Oak Street

Lawrenceburg Now

Law enforcement officers were summoned to the hospital late Monday to investigate a hit and run incident that resulted in injuries for a pedestrian.

According to reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department deputies responded to the emergency room at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems Lawrenceburg just after 10:00 p.m. Hospital personnel reported that a twenty-six year old resident of Clearview Avenue had sustained leg injuries as a result of the incident.

The victim told officers that he had been walking westbound on Oak Street when an eastbound vehicle, possibly a silver Saturn two-door car, had struck him. He said the impact knocked him to the ground and that the driver sped away.

Investigation into the incident is on-going at the current time. Anyone who has information about the incident is urged to contact the police department at 931-762-2276.
