What a race in this one … as Clay Collett took charge at the drop of the green then got caught in a tangle with the lap car of John Floyd on lap seven that resulted in enough damage to put the leader in the pits and finish his night. Wayne Smith took charge when the race restarted and held on thru lap twenty to pick up his second win of the season; but there was more excitement that took place during this race. On lap twelve Bryce Trull fell on the pace and was exiting the track when several cars got together in turn four, bringing out the caution; then on lap fourteen we had a RED flag when Michael Lumley, who was a lap down, went in a little too hard in turn four, car didn’t stick and he slid up into Ricky Cothran and sent him flipping. Thankfully, Cothran was uninjured; but the same could not be said for both cars involved, this did end the night for them both.

The Mini Stock class was running for a $500 purse and what a show they put on. Dillon Scott led green to checkered for his second straight win. Craig Pedrick was in hot pursuit but had to settle for the second position (said he just needed a couple more laps to get it done). This race drew seven cautions … the first on lap ten when John Duncan spun in turn four and collected Bobby Hickman, Jr, the second also on lap ten for the spin of Michael Giles in turn two, the third on lap eleven when Kenneth Martin got into Chauncey Parson, the fourth on lap thirteen (became RED flag) when Fletcher Lindsey went over the backside, the fifth also on lap thirteen for the spin of Hunter Runions in turns three/four, the sixth on lap fifteen when Taylor Clark blew and the final caution on lap seventeen when Parson got into Giles (Giles went to the pits with a flat). These “little cars” were not short on action!!

David McGill led from the drop of the green thru lap six when the only caution came out for Jason White; that caused the leader to spin … collecting three of the top four cars. On the restart it would be David Vandygriff seven thru fifteen for his FIRST ever win.

Only two cautions in this 30 lap … $1000 to win race!! Oakley Johns jumped out to the lead on the drop of the green and never looked back as he led it flag to flag for the win!! The first caution came on lap ten for the spin of Dustin Harris in turn two and the second on lap sixteen when Dustin Stutts spun in turn two and Steven Holcomb and Dustin Harris got together as they were trying to miss Stutts, with damages putting Holcomb in the pits for the night.
