Reports Of Vehicle Burglaries Continue
Instances of vehicle burglaries have been common in recent weeks and law enforcement officials are continuing to receive such complaints.
On Sunday, Lawrenceburg police officers were dispatched to investigate the burglary of a vehicle parked beneath a carport outside of a Seventh Street home. The victim, age fifty, told officers that sometime during the previous night unknown person entered her vehicle and stole her red clutch. It contained debit and credit cards along with approximately $100 cash.
A Nashville man reported to police officers Sunday that his 2000 Ford Expedition had been illegally entered while outside of an Evans Drive home the previous night. The sixty-six year old owner reported that he had been visiting family members and discovered the theft only after returning home. He said that a Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver had gone missing from the glove box. It was valued at $500.
In both instances the owners reported inadvertently leaving the vehicle unlocked. Law enforcement officials urge residents to remember to lock up before leaving your vehicle unattended.
