Tuesday Crime Report
Theft
A Leoma woman reported that her personal belongings had been stolen out of her vehicle while she was at the Lawrence County Courthouse last week. She told police officers that three people she knew had asked if they could sit inside her car and she had allowed them to do so briefly. She later discovered that her cell phone, cigarettes, checkbook, and $30 cash were missing. Total loss was estimated at $249.
Theft
A Granddaddy Road resident filed a complaint with police officers Wednesday, stating that a family member, in whose basement he resides, had come into his living space and stolen his food. He said that the crime occurred while he was at the hospital visiting with a family member. He estimated his loss to be $37.74.

Police officers responded to a Tipton Street address Thursday morning where a resident reported that someone had stolen his city-owned garbage container. He said that the crime occurred sometime after 10:15 the previous night. Loss to the city was approximately $150.

A resident of Watson Drive reported to police officers on Thursday that during the previous night someone had stolen his city-issued trash container and vandalized his mailbox. Each was reported as an approximate $150 loss.

Police officers also took a complaint from an Old Florence Road resident Thursday who reported that his city-issued trash container, valued at $150, had been stolen sometime after 9:30 the previous night.
Recovered property
A Lawrenceburg mom who reported that her son’s red Huffy bicycle had been stolen from a Fifth Street address last week, with another bicycle left in its place, told police officers Thursday that they had located the bike. It had been abandoned, undamaged, in an alley off of Third Avenue.
Theft
Prescription medications were reportedly stolen out of the home of a Waterloo Street resident overnight Wednesday. The victim told police officers that she never has visitors and had no idea who might have taken her pills. Loss was said to be $197.
