Shots fired in dispute over purchased items
Lawrenceburg Now
A Brannon Street resident requested that Lawrenceburg Police officers investigate Sunday after he said shots were fired during a dispute over some items he had purchased from another individual.
According to department reports, officers responded to the home shortly after 1:00 a.m. The resident, age 24, told officers that he had purchased items from another man and that he had showed up at his home, demanding payment.
He said that he had not paid him because “some of the items didn’t work as they should.” He said the man made verbal threats against him, then got into a white Chevrolet Z71. He said as the man was backing out of the driveway, a passenger pulled out a handgun and began to fire out the window.
The victim told officers that he was uncertain which direction the man fired the weapon, indicating that “he just saw the muzzle flash.”
Officers were unable to find evidence of a gun being fired at the scene. At the present time the allegations remain under investigation.
