“Friend” Steals Debit Card While Man Showers
Law enforcement officials are looking into allegations that a woman stole her “friend’s” debit card while he showered in preparation for seeking medical attention.
The sixty-five year old Shotwell Road resident filed a complaint with Lawrenceburg Police Officers late last week. He said that he had decided to seek medical attention at the local hospital and that a “friend” had offered to give him a ride. He said that he took a shower at her Oak Street home. While he was doing so, he said she stole his debit card out of his medication bag.
The victim reported that he was hospitalized overnight. When he returned to his home, he discovered that the card was missing. He told officers that his home healthcare worker had contacted the woman and asked her to return the card. He said she agreed to do so, but that it was never returned.
The victim indicated that he had already contacted bank officials. They confirmed that there had been fraudulent activity on his account. He then informed them that the transactions had not been authorized.
The crime currently remains under investigation.
