Lawrence County’s best foot forward

I was glad to see many of you at Tuesday night’s unveiling event for the glossy, full-color, 90-page Lawrence County community guide published by the Chamber of Commerce.

The publication is available free of charge at the Chamber, at Lawrenceburg, Loretto, St. Joseph and Ethridge city halls, and at every business that took advantage of the opportunity to advertise in it.

Distribution outside Lawrence County is in the works, including placement at the I-65 Welcome Center at Ardmore. It will also be mailed out to any person or business making inquiries about visiting or moving here.

For those who haven’t seen it, prepare to be impressed. The guide not only offers user-friendly information, but articles about our history, people, landmarks, and more. I guarantee that when you sit down to read it – and you will want to – you’ll learn something you didn’t know about Lawrence County.

One example could be the fact that our county will be 200 years old on October 21, 2017. Another tourism project in the works at the Chamber is a community-wide celebration that will be held that day, and in the months leading up to it.

I feel very good about the direction our tourism efforts are taking under the guidance of the Chamber. Its staff members worked with a team of talented local writers and photographers to create the content for our new community guide.

Their work was then put in a very attractive package by Aha! Creative, an advertising and marketing agency owned by the City of Loretto’s vice-mayor, Ray Methvin. Thanks to everyone who helped put our best foot forward with this publication.
