Witnesses report threats to kidnap, drug, rape and film juveniles
Lawrenceburg Now
Law enforcement officials were asked to open an investigation during the weekend when witnesses reported overhearing threats made by a local man to kidnap, drug, rape, and film some female juveniles.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department spoke with the witnesses at a Second Street home at approximately 7:40 p.m. Saturday. They first spoke with the father of the forty-year-old suspect. He told officers that his son was “bad on drugs,” and that he had made a statement about committing the crimes against a “couple of girls in the neighborhood.”
Officers were next stopped by the mother of one of the potential victims. She told them that the suspect had stood in the street in front of her residence and threatened to kidnap, drug, rape and film her daughter and another female juvenile.
The reporting officer noted that while he was at the scene, family members and “several other residents in the neighborhood were actively looking for” the suspect.
Officers report that they searched the neighborhood throughout the night, but were unable to make contact with the suspect at that time. They were able to make contact with him the following day at a home on Jackson Street. When they asked him about the threats he denied having made statements of that nature.
Reports note that officers advised the suspect “not to go back over to that part of town for his own protection.”
