Fugitive from Florida arrested during Ethridge traffic stop

A routine traffic stop conducted in the Ethridge area late last week resulted in the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a crime committed in the State of Florida.

Officials with the Ethridge Police Department reported Monday that the arrest was the result of a traffic stop made on Campbellsville Pike Friday by a Lawrence County Constable. The constable made the stop at around 10:00 p.m., then checked the status of the driver’s license through Lawrence Central Dispatch. He was told that the driver, identified as Dylan Jonathon Martin, was driving on a revoked license.

Shortly afterwards, Ethridge Police officers arrived on the scene to assist, explaining that there was an outstanding warrant for Martin in Florida, where he was wanted on a charge of felony theft of a motor vehicle.

Martin was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of driving on a revoked license and being a fugitive from justice. He was incarcerated to await extradition.
