Lawrenceburg leaders approve 2016-2017 fiscal year budget

Members of the board that governs the City of Lawrenceburg voted to approve on first reading Thursday, a near $16.8 million spending plan for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
During the bi-monthly meeting of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council, members voted unanimously to approve this year’s budget ordinance. The ordinance must gain approval on second and final reading before becoming effective.
The budget is based upon a tax rate of $1.4368 per $100 of assessed value, which City Attorney Alan Betz pointed out, is the new certified tax rate for the city.
