Lawrence County Schools announces little free libraries now open at 3 locations.

Lawrence County School System released the following announcement on Monday:

"PAGE-TURNERS is excited to announce that there are three Little Free Libraries stocked and ready to use! The little libraries are a free book-sharing opportunity and are located at Summertown Elementary, Ethridge Elementary, and David Crockett Elementary. These libraries were designed and built by the dual enrollment Building Construction Technology classes at Summertown High School under the direction of instructor Joe Chapman.

The purpose behind the libraries is to share books, bring people together and create communities of readers. The Little Free Libraries belong to the whole community and the hope is that they will bring a little more joy, a little more connection and a whole lot more books to our community.

Here’s how it works!

Whose Library is this? It belongs to everybody—neighbors, friends, and people we don’t even know yet. Anyone can use it. That’s why we want to take care of it.

Take a book. If you see something you’d like to read, take it. You don’t have to give a book at the same time as you take one. The libraries host a variety of books for all ages - toddler to adult.

Share a book. After you’ve read it, share it in any Little Free Library book-sharing box, or bring it back to the library you borrowed it from. Be a friend of all libraries, big and small. You can share your own books in the library.
