Woman reports she was injured while knocking neighbor’s drone to the ground

A Lawrenceburg woman filed a complaint with police officers last week, indicating that she had sustained an injury when she knocked a neighbor’s drone from the air after asking them to fly it elsewhere.

The complainant, age 53, requested that Lawrenceburg Police officers be dispatched to her North Mahr Avenue home shortly after the incident occurred. She reported that her neighbors had been flying the drone in front of her apartment and she asked them to fly it elsewhere, but that they had continued to fly it in the same location.

She said that she left her porch, where she was smoking a cigarette, and walked to the sidewalk. She said she then grabbed the drone, knocking it to the ground. She complained that the propeller had cut her hand when she did so.

The woman told officers that one of the men flying the drone had came out and picked it up, making threats to “fly it to her head next time.”

Officers report that the complainant sought medical treatment at the emergency room at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Services. They noted that they attempted to make contact with the owners of the drone to determine the extent of damage inflicted, but that they had left the residence prior to their arrival.
