Pedestrian reports being struck by car while crossing East Gaines Street

Lawrenceburg Now

A Pulaski Street resident reported to police officers Friday that he had been struck by a car while crossing East Gaines Street the previous day.

The seventy-six year old victim spoke with Lawrenceburg Police officers just before 2:00 p.m. He said that at approximately 4:50 p.m. Thursday he had been crossing East Gaines near Walgreens when he was struck by a white female traveling eastbound in a brown vehicle, possibly a mini Cooper.

The victim said that he spoke with the woman briefly, but that she quickly left the scene and did not identify herself.

Officers report that the man had sustained a knot just below his right knee. He told them that he had not sought medical attention because he felt that he would be “okay.”
