Resident returns home to find bullet holes in his apartment
Lawrenceburg Now
A resident of an apartment complex on Old Florence Road reported to authorities Saturday that he came home to find bullet holes through his floor and ceiling.
According to reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department, officers answered the call to the apartments owned by Duke & Mattox Properties, LLC, just before 7:00 a.m. The victim reported that he had returned from work that morning to find a bullet hole through both his living room floor and ceiling.
The officer made his way to the apartment directly below the victim’s and was able to speak with a female resident. She explained that a friend of her boyfriend had asked to stay with them for a few days, and that he had been the one that fired the shot.
She said that she had been awakened by a loud noise at approximately 3:00 a.m. She told the officer that she heard the man cursing, then heard the door slam as he fled from the apartment.
The officer concluded that the firearm had likely been discharged unintentionally. At the time the report was filed no contact had been made with the suspect.
