Monday Crime Report
Lawrenceburg Now
Theft
A resident of Fifth Street reported to police officers Sunday that someone had stolen a red and black, 20” men’s bicycle that had been leaning against the front porch of his home. He estimated the bike’s worth at $60.
Vandalism
An Academy Drive resident reported the attempted burglary of her 2015 Kia Optima on Sunday. She told police officers that the crime occurred sometime after 1:00 a.m. There was minor damage to the trim around one window. Damages were said to total around $150.
Aggravated burglary
More than $150 worth of prescription medications were reported stolen from a Sixth Street home Saturday. The resident said the crime occurred while he was away from home briefly, visiting a friend. Nothing else appeared to be missing.
Theft
Police officers made their way to a Nixon Avenue home on Saturday where the resident reported that a blue and white, 24” child’s Dynacraft BMX bicycle had been taken off the front porch. Estimated value is $70.
Attempted theft
An attempted theft was reported by the owner of a laundry mat on West Gaines Street Friday. The owner reported that someone had attempted to pry open the coin collectors, but had been unsuccessful. He said this is the second time this has happened in the past month. He was able to provide officers with a picture of the suspect from security footage.
Vandalism
On Thursday police officers responded to a Third Street home where the resident reported someone had painted a red “H” on the vinyl siding on the northeast corner of her home. Damages were around $100. She said that the crime had occurred sometime after 8:00 the previous night.
