Home visit by probation officer, police results in drug charges for Lawrenceburg men
Lawrenceburg Now
A home visit made by members of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Lawrenceburg Police Department and State Board of Probation and Parole conducted recently has resulted in drug charges for two local men.
Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that the incident occurred at 1101 Oakdale Avenue in Lawrenceburg. Arrested were resident Demetri Jaymes Richard, 23, and thirty-seven year old Allen Dewayne Tease of 1103 Clearview Avenue.
Reports indicate that while knocking on the door, an investigator noticed Richard running into a back bedroom. They entered the home to find Richard, Tease, and a female subject inside.
During a search of the home officers report seizing 1.8 grams of methamphetamine that had been concealed behind a stand in the bedroom along with some digital scales from the living room. Approximately one gram of marijuana, a pipe and rolling papers were seized from Tease’s vehicle. Also seized were a cell phone and $451 in cash believed to be the proceeds of illegal drug sales.
Both Richard and Tease were transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where they were booked under charges of possession of meth for the purpose of resale and possession of drug paraphernalia. Tease was also cited for simple possession of marijuana. Bond for both men was set at $16,000.
Officers noted that the female subject was not charged because they did not suspect that she had been involved in the drug activity.
