Pet rescued from burning home Tuesday afternoon
Lawrenceburg Now
Firefighters who responded to a house fire Tuesday afternoon were able to contain the blaze while also rescuing a family pet.
Lawrenceburg Fire Chief Jay Moore issued a press release about the operation Wednesday morning. He indicated that members of the department were dispatched at around 4:00 p.m. to a residential structure fire at 103 Lynnwood Circle. He said that the first units on the scene arrived to find that the kitchen area of the home was ablaze.
Moore reports, “Fire department personnel were able to quickly extinguish the fire and confine it to the area of origin, stopping the fire from spreading to other rooms of the home and into the attic space of the residence.”
Moore said that firefighters searched the home to ensure that no one was inside. “They were able to locate and safely remove a family pet that had become trapped in the residence during the fire.”
Moore said that it had been determined that the fire was electrical in nature, attributed to a kitchen appliance.
No injuries resulted from the blaze however Moore said that members of the Lawrence County Emergency Medical Service responded due to the extreme heat, providing medical monitoring and rehab for firefighters at the scene.
