Monday Crime Report

Theft

Police officers were summoned to Bobby Newton Auto Sales on East Gaines Street late last week where the owner reported that a dealer tag had gone missing during a test drive. Loss was said to be $55.

Theft

The owner of a 1997 Ford F-150 reported to police officers Friday that someone had stolen the license plate off of his truck in recent days. The action resulted in a loss of $65.

Auto burglary

The owner of a 2013 Chevrolet reported to police officers Saturday that her vehicle was burglarized while she was picking up her husband. She reported that she had gone inside the VFW building located at 517 East Gaines Street to find her husband. She said that she stayed around fifteen minutes. When they returned to the vehicle, they found that someone had stolen her GPS device, some jewelry, a cell phone, and some prescription medications. Altogether, she estimated her loss to be $227.50.
