Shoplifting
On Friday, officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department issued a citation for shoplifting to forty-four year old Buffalo Road resident Susan Lavon Mason. The citation was issued after security personnel at Walmart reported seeing her place several items of merchandise into her purse, then leave the store through the garden center without paying for them. Mason is set to appear in General Sessions Court on August 28, 2017.
Burglary
Police officers spoke with a Buffalo Road resident on Saturday who reported a burglary at her home. The victim, age 53, told officers that someone had entered her home stealing prescription medication and a clear box containing around twenty loose gemstones. Officers located what appeared to be scratch marks around the locking mechanism on the back door. Loss was estimated to total $476.

She said that she was uncertain when the crime occurred, but that the only place she had been since having it filled was Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.
Aggravated burglary
Authorities believe a credit card or knife was used to gain access to a Gaither Avenue home while the resident was away Thursday. She said that she arrived home to find the front door had been unlocked and around $65 worth of her belongings were stolen. Items missing include a jar containing around $40 worth of change, 17 Lortab pills, and baby diapers.

Theft
On Tuesday, a resident of Violet Avenue spoke with police officers regarding the theft of two collectible bicycles from his shed. He said that one was a 26” green Murray bike with white wall tires. The other was a rusty Murray bike with a white seat, a sissy bar, and “Spyder” written on it. He said that the bicycles are normally chained up, but had inadvertently been left unchained. Total loss was said to be $700.

A Liberty Avenue resident reported to police officers Tuesday that a relative had stolen two laptop computers, a collectible knife, Nintendo DS gaming system, two cell phones, and a sewing kit from her home, resulting in a loss of $438. She told officers that she had threatened to report the matter and that the relative subsequently left both computers in a bathroom at Rotary Park and she was able to retrieve them, however he failed to return the remaining items.
