Arrest Made In June Burglary Of Lawrenceburg Business
Lawrenceburg Police officials report that an arrest has been made in connection with the June burglary of a local business.
With the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Service, Tavarus Tyran Bruster was taken into custody in Maricopa County, Arizona where he was incarcerated to await extradition to Lawrence County.
Charges against Bruster stemmed from the June 24th burglary of Little Gold Mine, located on North Locust Avenue. A hammer left at the scene was reportedly stolen from Walmart shortly before the crime occurred. Reports indicate that Bruster could be seen on security video, concealing the hammer and exiting the store, just minutes before the break-in. The video allowed officers to identify Bruster as the suspect in the case.
Department reports show that detectives signed warrants on July 10, charging Bruster with burglary, theft over $10,000, and vandalism over $10,000. During the investigation they learned that he had fled the state and was in Arizona, leading to the involvement of the Marshal’s Service.
