Southern Regional 4-H Horse Championship
This Tuesday, 7/28/15, three Lawrence County 4-H Horse Club member's travel to Perry, GA to represent the State of Tennessee at the Southern Regional 4-H Horse Championship Show from July 29th thru August 1st, 2015.
Only 50 4-H members from across the state were selected to join the Tennessee State Team. These local girls qualified with their outstanding performances at the state competition in June.
Savannah Brus (6th Grade, Leoma Elementary School) and her mare, Cherry Wine, will be competing in Hunter Showmanship and Hunter Mares. Emily Gray (8th Grade, Spring Hill Middle School) and her gelding, IMA Freckled King, will be competing in Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, and Stake Race. Madison Franks (10th Grade, Loretto High School) will be competing with her mare, CQF Stellar Tradition, in Western Halter Mares and with her mare, IOTA Be Blonde in, in Western Pleasure and Western Showmanship.
These young ladies were able to hone their skills through participation in the 4-H Horse Project Group.
All young people interested in horses are invited to join us for our next meeting on August 3rd. Meetings are held regularly on the first Monday of each month at 5:30 pm at the Lawrence County Extension office.
Don't have a horse? No problem! There are many events throughout the year, including horse bowl and hippology, in which everyone can participate.
