Lewis County man charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, sex offender registry violation

An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Hohenwald man on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and violating the sex offender registry.

On June 22nd, TBI Special Agents received information via a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, about an image of a minor that had been uploaded to an online account. During the course of the investigation, Agents were able to determine that the account belonged to Jeffery Brown, of Piney Creek Road in Hohenwald.

On Wednesday, Jeffery Allen Brown (DOB 8/12/1978) was arrested by TBI Special Agents and Tennessee Department of Correction Community Supervision officers, with the assistance of deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

He was charged with one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and one count of Violation of the Sex Offender Registry. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. A booking photo of Brown is not currently available
