Officials with Ethridge Fire Department reported Wednesday that the department has received around one quarter of a million dollars in equipment over the last fiscal year, which will go a long way toward fully outfitting the department, and other projects.

The first grant received was a Regional FEMA Grant for 20 MSA G1 air packs along with New Prospect and Lawrenceburg Fire Departments. Ethridge was also a recipient of the Firehouse Subs Foundation Grant for a complete vehicle stabilization kit and high lift air bags.

Shortly after that grant Ethridge received notification of the Forestry Grant for fire hose and foam. This week a call from Lamar Alexander's office that Ethridge would be awarded the FEMA Grant for 20 complete sets of turnout gear including helmets, pants, coats, boots, gloves and hoods.

Department officials stated, "We are very blessed to have received these greatly needed grants that will aid the Department in providing a high level of service to our community."
