Wednesday Crime Report
Lawrenceburg Now
Theft
Police officers responded to Advance Auto Parts on North Locust Avenue Tuesday. Employees reported that a license plate had been stolen off of a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado belonging to the business, while it was parked in the parking lot. Loss was said to be $81.75.
Theft
Loss prevention officers at Walmart on North Locust Avenue reported a fraud incident to police officers. They reported that an unknown white female had entered the business, selected four items from shelves in the toy section, then took the items to the customer service desk and received a “no receipt” refund in the amount of $79.62 via gift card. The crime was observed during a review of security video. The woman provided employees with a driver’s license during the transaction, potentially providing her identification.
Vandalism
Police officers spoke with a woman last week who reported finding damage to her home. She reported that four of her metal window frames had sustained pry marks and that someone had thrown a small rock through one of her front windows. She estimated damages to total $600.
Burglary
Deputies spoke with an Old Florence Pulaski Road resident who indicated that an acquaintance had come to his home, attempting to sell him a scooter. He told the man he was not interested and they sat inside of his car for a time, talking. He said that once the man had left, he noticed that a $20 bill was missing from his ash tray.
Theft
Two residents of Beechwood Drive filed a complaint with deputies last week, indicating that around $450 worth of their belongings had been stolen. They said that earlier that day a female acquaintance had asked to stay with them for a couple of days, and that they had agreed to allow her to do so. They said that they dropped her off at their home around 10:00 a.m. and were away until around 5:00 p.m. When they returned they discovered that the woman had left the home and that a cell phone, pistol, and prescription medication was missing.
Vehicle burglary
Deputies met with a St. Joseph resident who reported that an acquaintance had stolen his stereo/CD player out of his vehicle while it was parked at Iron City Bridge. He said that a fishing pole and inflatable cooler were also taken. He said that afterwards, while he was at his grandmother’s home, another acquaintance had entered his vehicle, this one stealing a .50 caliber muzzleloader. Investigation is on-going.
