Owner Finds Stolen Handgun At Pawn Shop

Lawrenceburg Police officers were asked to investigate last week after a man reported he had found his stolen handgun at a local pawn shop.

Department reports show that while inside the pawn shop, the thirty-five year old victim had noticed his .45 semi-automatic gun was up for sale. He was able to match the serial number to the box and information he still had in his possession. He had filed a theft report in September of 2014.

Officers were able to speak with the man who had sold the gun to the pawn shop. He told them he didn’t believe the gun could be the stolen one, since he had purchased it three to four years prior from a vendor at a local flea market.

Investigation into the matter is on-going at the current time. The gun has a value of approximately $675.
