Lawrenceburg Police Officers were dispatched to Walgreens in reference to a counterfeit $20 bill.

Lawrenceburg Police Officers were dispatched on Friday to Walgreens on East Gaines Street with reports that a customer attempted to use counterfeit money.

Officers spoke with the male customer who stated that he was in the store purchasing medicine when he was informed by an employee that the $20 bill he paid with was counterfeit.

The customer told police that he was unaware that the $20 bill was a fake, and explained that he may have come in possession of it through his store he owned.

Officers seized the counterfeit money, and as of the time of the report there had been no charges filed.
