Woman Bites Security Guard After Using His Phone

A hospital security guard filed a complaint with police officers on Wednesday, stating that a woman had bitten him after he allowed her to use his cell phone.

Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department responded to Southern Tennessee Regional Health Care on South Locust Avenue just after 7:00 p.m. The security guard reported that the incident had occurred while he was watching a disorderly patient.

He said the thirty-nine year old was acting out, so he had let her use his cell phone in an attempt to calm her. He said that when a lab technician came to draw blood he told the woman to put the phone away, but that she refused to do so. He told officers that when he took the phone she raised up and grabbed his arm. He pushed her back onto her bed and while he was holding her down, he said she bit his left forearm causing a minor injury.

The security guard said that his boss advised him that it was protocol to file a police report detailing the assault.
