Escapee Kirk Taken Into Custody

Press release

On July 1, 2015 Lt. Nathan Neese was contacted via a stolen cell phone by Jason Williams Kirk wanting to turn himself in. Lt. Neese coordinated with US Marshal Task Force officers and deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee to locate Kirk in the Denmark, TN area.

A locate was done on the phone and a close proximity location was obtained. With this information US Marshal Task Force officers and deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office saturated the area and on July 2, 2015 Kirk was taken into custody. Kirk is facing additional charges in Madison County for felony evading and will be brought back to Lawrence County to answer the charges of felony escape and theft over $10,000.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department would like to thank the public who assisted in this incident and would also like to thank the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the US Marshal Task Force, Henderson Police Department, Jackson Police Department and all law enforcement agencies who were involved in bringing Kirk back into custody without injury to any officer and Kirk himself. Kirk is being held at the Madison County Detention Facility.
