Employees Report Man Stealing Tips

Employees of a Lawrenceburg restaurant reported to a police officer Tuesday that it appeared that a man inside the business had been stealing tips.

The investigator with the Lawrenceburg Police Department reports that he had been eating at Pizza Hut on North Locust Avenue when he was approached by the employees. They explained that the incident had occurred the previous day.

A man who had been inside the business, they said, was moving from table to table in a suspicious manner. They said that they believed he had been taking tips that had been left for the employees.

The reporting investigator was able to make contact with the man in question. He admitted that he had been inside the restaurant both that day and the previous day, but said that he had not stolen any money.

The investigator reviewed security video from the business, but reports that it did not show the area where the incident occurred.

Store managers asked the man not to be back on the premises.
