Woman cited for bringing drugs into courthouse
Lawrenceburg Now
A fifty-three year old Florida resident was arrested last week after she allegedly brought prescription drugs that did not belong to her into the Lawrence County Courthouse.
According to reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred on Monday during a routine search of individuals entering the courthouse. Deputies report that during a search of Lorraine Marie Harper, 53, of 6450 Borasco Drive, Viera Florida, they found a pill bottle inside of her purse that contained three different types of pills. The bottle did not bear Harper’s name. She told deputies that “she did not know what the pills were, but that they were for her dog.”
Deputies were able to identify the pills via the internet and discovered that one type was diazepam and a second was acetaminophen/hydrocodone. They were unable to identify the third type of pill because it had been broken and had no identifying markers.
Harper was issued citations on charges of illegal possession of Schedule II and Schedule IV narcotics. She will be required to answer the charges through Lawrence County General Sessions Court.
