David Crockett State Park Program Schedule July 2- July 5, 2015
Thursday, July 2-
1:00 PM – Birds of Prey
Join Ranger Rachel at the Crockett Museum for an up close and personal look at our birds in our Captive Birds of Prey Program.
2:00 PM – Nature Craft
Join Ranger Rachel at the Crockett Museum for a craft that will teach us about patterns in nature!
Friday, July 3 –
11:00 Snake Program
Meet Colton at the Shelter #1 for an up close and personal look at everyone’s favorite animal!
1:00-2:30 PM – Pelt Display
Join Colton at the Crockett Museum to learn about animal pelts and you can touch them too.
2:00 – Paddle Boat Races
Meet at the Boat Dock for a fun paddle boat race on Lake Lindsey. Participants must bring a partner.
3:00 PM – Evolution of the Black Powder Pistol
Join Colton at the Crockett Museum for a look at how the pistol has changed over time. We will be making some noise!
4:00 PM – Creek Stomp
We will be walking the Creek form the Crockett Falls to the Spillway Falls. Wear the appropriate Clothes and Shoes!!!!!
7:00 PM –Trail of Tears Sunset Hike
Walk down the same trail has the Cherokee people did on their way to Oklahoma.
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM – Crockett Pool Party!
Come to the pool for a fun nighttime pool party! Get the chance to swim at night, and enjoy the games and activities planned! Snack Bar will be open also! Regular pool admission required.
Saturday, July 4 –
8:00 AM – Run With A Ranger – Couch 2 5K-W6D1
Since this scheduled run is a holiday the run will be on your own. But please feel free to come to the park and get that run in!
9:00-10:00 AM – Lap Swimming
Are you a lap swimmer? If so or would like to try head to the pool to get started. Pool admission required.
1:00 PM – Diving Contest
Come to the pool to show off your diving moves! Pool Fee still applies.
1:00 PM – Museum Tour
Join Colton at the Crockett Museum for a walk through Crockett’s Life.
Saturday, July 4 (continued)
2:00 PM – Black Powder Demonstration
Join Colton at the Crockett Museum for a look at the rifle like Crockett would have used. We’ll be making some noise!
3:00 PM – Crockett in the Creek War
Learn about Crockett fighting against the Creeks and why he would take his stand for them in Congress.
5:00 PM – Birds of Prey
Meet Colton at the Crockett Museum for an up close look at our birds in our captive raptor program that live in the aviary.
Sunday, July 5 –
8:00 AM – Morning Canoe Float
Meet at the Boat Dock for a morning canoe float tour of Lake Lindsey. Spaces are limited, sign up by coming by or calling the Park Office, 931-762-9408.
11:00 AM – From Farm To Table- Making Bread
Join Ranger Rachel at the Crockett Museum for a look at a hand operated mill, and the process to prepare a loaf of bread.
1:00 PM – Cornhusk Dolls
Join Ranger Rachel at the Crockett Museum for a chance to make this old time doll, from a time when children’s toys were made from what they had.
2:00 PM- Canoe Races
Meet at the boat dock for a fun canoe race on Lake Lindsey. Winner will win a free canoe rental!
3:00 PM – Museum Tour
Join Addison at the Crockett Museum for a walk through Crockett’s Life.
4:00 PM – Snake Program
Meet Addison at the Crockett Museum for an up close and personal look at everyone’s favorite animal!
5:00 PM – Birds of Prey
Meet Colton at the Crockett Museum for an up close look at our birds in our captive raptor program that live in the aviary.
Wednesday- Sunday – Games at the Pool
Come by the Pool for a game of Volleyball, Corn Hole, or Ping Pong. All you need to do is put a team together or challenge a Life Guard!!!! Pool Fees still apply.
Tuesday and Thursday – 5 PM – Couch 2 5K
Meet at the Crockett’s Mill Restaurant to join up with the group and get in your Couch 2 5K runs!
