D.A. Cooper Elected To State Executive Committee
Brent Cooper, District Attorney General for the 22nd Judicial District that includes Lawrence County, was recently elected to serve on the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference Executive Committee.
While filling the position, Cooper, who served as an assistant district attorney from 2000 to 2014, is tasked with participating in oversight of the conference administration including budgeting, account, payroll, personnel and property management for all district attorney offices throughout the state. Other conference tasks will involve training for assistant district attorneys general, criminal investigations, victim witness coordinator and advising the Tennessee General Assembly on the criminal justice system.
On his election, Cooper stated, “It was an honor to be elected to the Executive Committee in my first year as D.A. I will do my best to make sure that I hold this post with distinction and honor, as the people of my district and state deserve.
