Lawrenceburg man reports he was assaulted while walking along College Avenue

Lawrenceburg Police officers were dispatched to investigate an assault incident late Sunday where a man reported that he had sustained numerous cuts.

Officers responded to the victim’s Crockett Street home at 11:20 p.m. The victim, age fifty, reported that he had been walking along College Avenue shortly before, when he was attacked by an unknown man. The reporting officer noted that the victim had sustained twelve separate cuts on his stomach, chest, and neck, and that there was a knot on the front of his head.

The victim was unable to identify to officers the weapon with which his attacker had assaulted him. Officers report that they conducted a thorough search of the area, but that they were unable to locate anyone matching the description given.

Emergency medical personnel at the scene recommended that the victim be transported to the hospital for medical attention, however reports show that the man declined to do so.

Investigation in the matter is currently on-going.
