Wife Reports Husband Stole $4k During Extended Argument
Law enforcement officials were called upon to investigate early Sunday after a woman reported that her husband had stolen $4,000 from her during an extended argument.
The thirty-nine year old victim reported to Lawrenceburg Police officers that she and her husband had argued throughout the day Saturday and into the early morning hours on Sunday. She said that around 2:30 a.m. the argument became heated and that her husband took $4,000 from her purse and “left in their newly acquired SUV to buy lottery tickets.” She told officers that she wanted her money back and for her husband to leave the residence.
When they spoke with the husband, age fifty, he told them that his wife had assaulted him during the argument, striking him twice in the chest. Officers report that there was no physical evidence to substantiate the man’s accusation. He left to stay with a relative for the night. Officers noted that the man did not deny taking the money, nor did he make any attempt to return it.
Both parties were advised about the process needed to resolve property disputes.
