Allen Named New Circuit Court Judge For The 22nd Judicial District
from tncourts.gov
On Wednesday, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam appointed Lawrenceburg attorney David Allen as Circuit Court Judge for the 22nd Judicial District.
Allen, age 62, replaces Judge Jim T. Hamilton, who has retired. The 22nd Judicial District includes Giles, Lawrence, Maury, and Wayne counties.
“David’s experience will serve him well as a Circuit Court judge,” Haslam said. “I am pleased to make this appointment, and Tennesseans in the 22nd Judicial District will benefit from his service on the bench.”
Allen has been a sole practitioner in Lawrenceburg since 1985. He worked as an associate attorney from 1982-1985 at Harwell, Plant & Allen in Lawrenceburg and was an associate attorney from 1980-1982 at Barnett, Tingle, Noble & Sexton, where he worked as a clerk from 1978-1980.
Allen began his career in education, as an elementary school music teacher and member of the Lawrence County Board of Education.
“I thank Governor Haslam for appointing me to the position of Circuit Court Judge,” Allen said. “I am honored and humbled. I look forward to serving the citizens of the 22nd Judicial District.”
Allen received a bachelor’s degree in music education from Middle Tennessee State University in 1974 and earned his juris doctor degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1980.
Allen has been volunteer choir director for the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceburg since 1983.
Allen has one step-daughter, Jennifer Robertson, with his wife, Kaye, and they have two grandsons, Kanyon and Foster.
