Public Assistance Sought In Suspicious Fire

Public assistance is being sought in connection with a fire that damaged two homes last week that has been deemed “suspicious” in nature.

A press release issued by Lawrenceburg Fire Department Fire Investigator Shayne Adams indicates that units responded to the blaze at 402 Nixon Avenue on Thursday. The fire resulted in damage to that residence, as well as an adjacent home.

Officials report that the resident was out of town, but that witnesses reported seeing a suspicious person about the property around a half hour before the fire was spotted. They reported that the woman was smoking a cigarette at the time.

The woman is described as 20 to 30 years of age with shoulder-length, light brown hair. At the time her hair was in a pony tail and she was wearing white/khaki Capri pants and a light blue/lavender shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

Anyone who might have information about this person or the blaze is urged to report it to the Lawrenceburg Police Department by calling 931-762-2276. A cash reward is available through the Tennessee Arson Hotline, 1-800-762-3017, for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
