Mt. Juliet Police Department warn residents about the thieves involved in scams.

 

 

The Mt. Juliet Police Department released the following information regarding scams:

"Thieves will do anything and make up all kinds of stories to trick someone to send them money.

If someone calls or emails you and demands immediate payment, in the form of gift cards or cash to be sent by mail, it is a very, very strong sign of a scam. Thieves even arrange fake online payment portals to steal your money. Do not send it!

Before sending anyone or any “organization” money, please verify the source and destination of the payment to ensure it is legitimate.

If you believe a call may be legitimate but you have trouble validating the source of the request, please give us a call. Our officers are here to assist so you do not become the next scam victim."
