Lawrenceburg Police officers arrested a local man recently who was accused of stealing items from his employer.

The victim told officers that they were in the process of moving to a Second Street property and that someone had stolen his son’s fishing gear. He said that he had several tools that had been stolen out of his shed, as well.

The victim reported that he had hired a man to help with some projects and that he suspected that he had been the one who stole the items. His wife called him at that time to say that she had found a number of the stolen items at a pawn shop. A worker confirmed that they had purchased the items from the suspect.

When the suspect arrived at the home, the officer was able to talk to him about the matter. According to reports he initially denied that he had stolen anything. He later confessed, saying that he had taken them because he had a small child and was behind on his bills.
