Woman attempts to have husband arrested by cutting herself
Lawrenceburg Now
A Lawrenceburg woman is facing charges after she allegedly cut herself in an attempt to have her husband arrested Tuesday.
The incident occurred at an apartment on Clearview Avenue shortly before 5:00 p.m. Lawrenceburg Police Department reports show that officers initially spoke with the fifty-six year old man, identified as the victim in the case.
He told them that he and his wife, forty-six year old Susan Marie Fisher, had engaged in an argument when she made allegations that he was seeing another woman. He said that during the argument she assaulted him by slapping his face.
Fisher then spoke with officers stating that, during the argument, her husband had thrown her against a wall, breaking several glass items that caused cuts on both of her arms. Officers noted that there were spots on both of her arms that were bleeding at that time.
The male victim invited officers to inspect the apartment for signs of a physical altercation. They found that the apartment was in order and that nothing appeared to have been broken.
A witness spoke with officers, as well. He told them that Fisher had, herself, inflicted the cuts to her arms. He said that she did so “trying to say that (husband) had cut her arms.”
While at the scene Fisher told officers that she had become ill and requested that she be checked by the Emergency Medical Service. She was transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems for evaluation, and later taken to the Lawrence County Detention Center.
Fisher was booked under a charge of domestic assault with bond set at $2,000. She is slated to answer the charge in General Sessions Court on July 10, 2017.
