Woman who confronted intruder is struck by his vehicle

Lawrenceburg Now

A Lawrenceburg woman confronted an intruder inside of her West Point Road house Tuesday, and told authorities that she was struck by his vehicle as he left.

Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were dispatched to the home at around 12:45 p.m. to investigate a report of an unwanted person on the property. Department reports show that the victim, age sixty, had been alerted by a neighbor to the fact that there was someone prowling about inside of her house. She said that she arrived to find a green Dodge truck parked at the rear of the residence.

The victim told officers that she went inside the house and came face-to-face with a male intruder. She said she informed him that he was trespassing in her home and asked for his name. He gave the name of a person he claimed to be his father and told the victim that he “was there to get some things.”

The victim ordered the man off the premises and followed him outside. Reports indicate that he got into his truck and was spinning his tires as he attempted to leave. The victim said this caused the truck to strike her, knocking her against the house.

At the time reports were filed officers had tentatively identified the suspect. The investigation is on-going at this point.
